A peaberry is created when only one side of a coffee bean pod develops.  It is shaped more like a football, rather than being flat on one side.  Only 3-5% of any coffee crop develops into peaberry and it is carefully seperated from the rest of the beans.  In any coffee it represents the finest, smoothest flavor of that years crop and in Kona coffee it is in very limited supply.  Because of the unique, premium characteristics, we don't grind or flavor this coffee.  It is something every one should try at least once in their life.
