Extra Fancy is the Top Grade of Standard Kona Coffee Beans
Kona coffee comes in various grades, certified by the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. Extra fancy Kona coffee is the top grade, because of its uniform large size beans, uniform color, good roasting quality and lack of defective beans or waste. And better beans mean a better cup of coffee. When ordering Kona coffee be sure you are getting the best coffee beans available. It is just like getting grade A beef or grade AA eggs. There are many bags of Kona coffee out there, which are the lowest grade coffee beans available. For more details on coffee coffee grades visit our Hawaii coffee blog.
All of our coffees are also fresh roasted when you order them. Coffee loses about half of its flavor in the first two weeks after it is roasted. Imagine the difference between buying the least expensive bread at the grocery store and having a loaf of fresh bread out of the bread maker or oven. The first one will make an adequate sandwich, but a nice fresh warm bread with butter and jam is so much more pleasurable. It's the same way with coffee. Canned coffee from the grocery store will get the job done. But, gourmet freshly roasted premium coffee beans will make a much more pleasureable cup of coffee.
